I really wish it had focused more on that subplot! If only because I think part of the core of Paradise Lost was Takumi struggling with his identity. He discovers that he's been brainwashed and living a completely different life. Now, with his memories returned, he's struggling with Mari making up this rumor that he's the savior of humanity. He's the only person who can be Faiz. He's a failed hero who some of the resistance hates for not protecting them. And on top of it all, he's an Orphnoch pretending to be human. I'd actually tried writing a fic revising Paradise Lost to focus on that (and the worldbuilding of a world already conquered by the Orphnochs), but it was too ambitious and I had to abandon it a couple of paragraphs in.

And I wrote a fic crossing over Ryuki and Digimon Tamers based on the former's similarity to the latter and

ajora and I joking that Ren Akiyama was a grimdark version of Ryo Akiyama.
