Futureverse rambling

My day at work was awful. But my brother is home, and he and I hope to see the meteor shower tonight.
In the meantime, random background stuff I don't know if I'll be able to fit into the "Theory of Everything" universe:
Akino Ame 12:03 am
So, hilariously, I have this background thing in the Futureverse
About Sumo Slammers of all things
For the 25th anniversary, it was rebooted as Shin Sumo Slammers
The hero's name was changed to Shin Ishiyama (in an attempt to actually be ACCURATE about Japanese culture), and they went for a more henshin hero theme
Reaction was mixed
With old school fans going on about how it was ruined (among them, Ben)
But it sold well
Kaitou 12:05 am
hahah yeah
Akino Ame 12:05 am
But in the final season, it was revealed that Shin was actually the DESCENDANT of the original Ishiyama. The current Kenko is a clone of the original, and that's why they're enemies when the original Kenko and Ishiyama became friends in Hero Generation
It's unclear whether this was planned from the start or a fantastically done retcon, but for the most part, it shut up the naysayers (naturally, there's still a vocal minority online who bitch about it)
And it did well enough to get a sequel, where Shin has to unleash the power of the samurai in Shin Sumo Slammers Samurai
Akino Ame 12:07 am
The reason why it was called "Shin Sumo Slammers" is because of the pun: Shin is both a name AND it means "New"
Because I am a Kamen Rider dork and of COURSE I made a Shin joke
Combined with Power Rangers, apparently
And Ben 10. And Doctor Who
