I don't mean to make it sound like the sequel crew can't write the original series villains, but overall, I feel that they're more comfortable at writing the ones they've created, and it shows.
Again, I really haven't seen much of the original. So I'm not sure how well the Forever Knights came off in practice. Though speaking in theory, a group of guys dressed in armor collecting alien technology doesn't really strike me as formidable adversaries against a kid who can transform into a bunch of alien superheroes, his ex-military and ex-space cop grandfather, and his magical girl cousin. Okay, well, actually, I think they would make great enemies for the magical girl cousin. The odds seem way too stacked in Ben's favor, and in the sequels, it really shows.
