Finally bit the bullet and cut the scene. Hopefully, I can include it in a sequel.

Summary: In the months before Shinji became Ryuki, Ren and Yui already had a partnership going, even if it had its ups and downs. They weren't friends to start, which made it harder; and they certainly weren't in love, which made it easier. Ren's only love was the reason why he fought. Yui would just be happy if he managed not to bleed to death in her house.
