Kings and Kill Your Darlings
Oct. 8th, 2014 02:25 pm"Kings and Vagabonds" is not yet past chapter 5, but it's already in the "kill your darlings" stage, where I stop, realize I have an entire day detailed across five chapters, do not want a repeat of "The Theory of Everything" where I really didn't have enough TIME to devote to the time-travel-ness, and scrap all five chapters and rewrite.
Well, not totally scrapped. I saved everything, but I'm rewriting, condensing, and trying to figure out a timeline. Basically, everything I'm doing for "Derailed," and it SUCKS. Again.
Also, if anyone can help make sense of this for me? It's from OOO Wonderful when Date, Goto, and Eiji are flipping through a book on the old OOO. I can make out that it's all in English, in some crazy-ass font. I can make out the word "Great" in the upper right-hand corner, and probably "King," and I know the first line in the paragraph is "My name is OOO" (which is REALLY FUCKING UNHELPFUL when you're writing the guy, Mr. King), but the font is giving me a headache when I try to translate it. And knowing my luck, I'll do all this hard work and it's nothing that'll help. Anyway, interesting.
