On cherries

I have a feeling I'm in the minority, but I feel that marachino cherries are an abomination that do not deserve to be called cherries.

I'm going to go insane again this summer waiting for the Rainier cherries to come out and then blow all my money on them again. Shame I don't think my pink champagne sorbet will last until July (I have half a pint left)--it would have tasted perfect with them.
