Stranger tides: "A Knight to Remember"

This episode was okay, but it suffered a lot from the Idiot Ball on the villains' part. The number of times I called the Forever Knights and Vilgax fucking idiots goes into the ridiculous. "Curse your sudden and inevitable betrayal" came up a few times. And let's face it, things wouldn't have gone the way they went if the villains only had a brain.
So let's start. First, you've got the Flamekeepers being manipulated by Vilgax. No matter how many times Ben says that he's playing them for saps, they ignore him. Until he takes Dagon's heart and it's all "Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal." Then you've got Ben trying to manipulate the Forever Knights into stopping Vilgax. Yes, because Ben is secretly the Great Leader of Dai Shocker (Tsukasa got the job when this resulted in Dai Shocker firing Ben's ass). Really, guys? A sixteen-year-old is outsmarting you? Not to mention that one of you guys (Driscoll, I think--remember, I don't know the old series well enough, and it's been a while since we last saw them and I got introduced to them) outright admitted that math is a foreign language to you. And then Vilgax is manipulated by Dagon into giving him back his heart, and he's eaten by the fucking interdimensional dragon. It was nice knowing you, Vilgie. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound...
But the heroes really got to take it home. Ben was in top form, at least trying to put his brain to use by playing supervillain. Sure, it backfired spectacularly, but he gets an E for effort. He also blames himself for not realizing that everything was leading up to the Flamekeepers and Vilgax, the Forever Knights and St. George (yes, I called it), and Dagon to be the villains, though to be fair, the audience didn't stand a chance of putting it together given this season's plotting. I'm just waiting for Will Harangue to become Colonel Zol. Gwen gets some really spectacular angst when Dagon mindrapes her--and her description of how horrible it was to be possessed by him, far worse than the Lucubra, all but says "rape." But she insists on trying to make it through, and I really have to admire her for that. Kevin is wonderful with his typical Kevin-ness, mixing humor like "IF WE'RE VOTING ON WHO TO BLAME, I VOTE FOR BEN!" and amazing dramatic moments like what happened no less than five minutes later, when Ben asks Gwen to teleport them to the Seal, and he chews Ben out for not figuring out the plot and getting them in this whole mess in the first place. And the silent moment when he absorbs the metal of a fallen helmet after having to leave an unconscious Gwen's side, then crushes the helmet. It speaks volumes without words. And then the episode ends powerfully with Gwen's ominous warning to Ben that they haven't won, that Vilgax has been absorbed/eaten/whatever by Dagon (who is clearly the new Entity of AT4W), and St. George takes up his sword and de-ages back into...well, JLU Aquaman, and insists, "Let the dragon come!"
Well, that was fun. Who's for Chinese?

Note: When they kept bring up Dagon's heart, I immediate thought of W.I.T.C.H. and wanted to shout out, "Heart of Kandrakar!"
