So all of the assholes are gone. In the end, it was interesting to see that the Vorlons and Shadows were just scared. Of their time being over, and having to pass beyond the Rim. Afraid of being alone.

...Gotta say, though? I have a feeling I'm going to be making a lot of comparisons when I get to the Gaim reviews. I get JUST enough of a vibe of similarity between Sheridan and Delenn as I did from Kouta and Mai, and I know the source material the shows were based off of were different (definite Tolkien for B5, and Gaim was Genesis).

And it's an understandable fear. There are hundreds of thousands of light years of nothing between galaxies, and even hyperspace has its limits. A familiar cycle of violence was probably much more preferable to a long period in the unknown void.

It probably doesn't help that going "beyond the Rim" has become something of an epithet for death or the afterlife for fans and writers later on. Lost Tales (direct to video "movies") refers to a couple of characters played by now-deceased actors as going beyond the Rim.
