...You know what? Screw it. It's my birthday, I'm celebrating. This is Kamen Rider OOO Hyper Battle DVD: Quiz and Dance and TakaGarooBa

A sign outside Cous Coussier states that the restaurant is closed for the day, but inside the kitchen, Eiji is cutting vegetables while Ankh licks his ice cream with the same amount of concentration. Eiji gets annoyed that he's cutting onions and peeling potatoes while Ankh does the really hard work of licking a ramune ice pop, especially because whatever they're being secretive about this time will be blown if they don't finish quickly. But then Hina asks what exactly he's talking about, and Eiji hurries to cover up the food while she comes over, offering to help. While Ankh just doesn't do anything at all, Eiji rushes Hina out of the kitchen, hands her her purse and just...fails to come up with any kind of excuse this time. This is probably for the best, given some of the cover stories he's come up with.

Though confused, Hina starts walking down the street, musing that Eiji's acting weirder than usual today. A stray gust of wind lifts her hat off her head, and just like in the opening sequence, she chases after it. Unlike in the opening, however, a Bison Yummy has found it. She screams, and Eiji and Ankh hear her...possibly just the Yummy, though, depending on if Eiji has the purple Medals here or not, and look up.

Okay, but before they do, I swear it looks like Ankh is trying to eat a skewer of raw potatoes, onions, and carrots behind Eiji's back.

...Is...is this how you get Ankh to eat, Eiji? Put all of his food on a stick?

The Yummy starts to attack her, and so, with her idiots taking too long to come help, Hina grabs the Bison Yummy by its face, swings it around, and hurls it out of the alley. It is glorious. Meanwhile, a poor, unsuspecting Orca-Panda-nightmare Yummy skips along the road, carrying a copy of TV-kun Magazine, because product placement. There's some kind of special feature on OOO. But the Yummy never gets to see what, since the Yummy that Hina threw lands on top of him, causing him to drop the magazine and send a special Core Medal rolling away.

Hina catches it, but now there's two Yummies coming after her. Fortunately, this time, her idiots arrive, but unfortunately, they're a fucking mess. Ankh tosses the TaToBa Medals at Eiji, but for the first time, Eiji fails to catch a single one of them. The Taka Medal even bounces off of his head, much to his aggravation. They start yelling at each other, but the Yummies take advantage of this and attack Eiji. Because big, brightly colored target screaming at a blonde idiot. With Eiji thrown out with the rest of the trash (just kidding, I still love you), Hina is forced to just...

...Just grab a goddamn WRECKING BALL and swing it at the Yummies, sending them flying into the stratosphere.

I'm sorry. Clearly, I spent 48 episodes reviewing the wrong show. My new favorite series is Kamen Rider Hina, particularly the episode "And The Two Idiots She Has To Save." Which is every episode.

I mean, seriously, she just looks so happy there.

She turns and lets the wrecking ball fall (creating a massive pothole from the weight), looking like a Sentai badass while Eiji, in the first correct thing he's done all special, applauds. When he picks himself up, she tells him and Ankh that they've been slacking and need to go through special training, by learning about all of the animals and bugs that power the Medals. When Ankh stupidly tests Our Lady the Destroyer's patience by saying it's stupid, she shows mercy by bribing them with the new Medal. Eiji admits he's dumb as a bag of rocks and probably can't learn anything, but Hina suggests he learn through a quiz.

Like I said back in "Ryuki vs. Agito," the HBV's have gotten more complex over the years. It's no longer enough to make Ren Akiyama smile or the entire cast of Faiz sing; you've got to have a gimmick and a prize. These quizzes go through the combos, highlighting them after identifying the representative animals. But there's also a special quiz to identify the animal depicted on the mystery Medal—Kangaroo. Now that they've identified it, Ankh is ready to take it, but Hina points out that he and Eiji failed because they couldn't get their shit together. So if they're going to work together, they need a good teambuilding exercise—the Kangaroo Dance. And of course, the subject of dancing has both guys suddenly flustered.

The boys gather in front of a backdrop of Uluru, and Eiji admits that okay, maybe he'll be fine, but how's Ankh going to do? Ankh just insists he's a great dancer, showing off some moves in front of Eiji. Eiji realizes that makes perfect sense, because there are birds that do courtship dances. And Ankh...doesn't deny any of it. Yeah. So, everything they do here is courtship, according to Ankh. Goddamnit, Eiji, you've just talked yourself into another mess.

Hina, dressed in fitness gear, comes in and starts teaching them the dance. They do fine as long as they watch her, but as soon as she leaves them on their own, telling them to face one another to dance...because courtship...Eiji and Ankh screw up their timing and crash into each other. Eiji apologizes, but Ankh pushes him...so I guess Eiji must have said something extremely insulting in Bird when he messed up that dance. But eventually, they get it down, and as soon as Hina tells them, Eiji starts jumping around and hugging Ankh...because Hina just officiated a bird wedding. You're legally married, guys. As a wedding gift, she gives them the Kangaroo Medal, just in time to take on the Yummies, who are attacking people under a bridge. They dodge nicely (although Eiji just leapfrogs over the Panda, which is cute), and Ankh tosses the Medals. This time, they're in a straight line, and Eiji's able to catch them in three twirls, and they compliment each other on the control and catch. But TaToBa is getting overwhelmed, and Ankh calls for a Medal change, throwing in one more interactive gimmick to decide whether he should give Eiji an arm or leg Medal.

If you choose arm and the Unagi Medal, the Panda catches the eel whips in his mouths, and then Bison throws Eiji into the bridge. However, with Kangaroo, brown lines form on OOO's suit, and red boxing gloves cover his hands. Eiji feels lighter, despite having powerful punches, and he races in to hit the Yummies with a Kangaroo Upper, then fly through the air with a devastating Kangaroo Punch finisher.

If you choose leg and Zou, Eiji is too slow to keep up with the Yummies, and he's thrown into the bridge again. But with Kangaroo, the brown lines and silver springs appear on his legs, and red sneakers take over his feet. Again, he feels lighter, and he's able to get in a flip and a Kangaroo Spinning Kick. His finisher is Kangaroo Kick, where a tail appears on his back, supporting him as he kicks away at the Yummies. Also, after his victory he dances and makes a stupid little pose.

Dancing Eiji is the best Eiji, I swear.

With the battle over, they all head back to Cous Coussier, Eiji thanking Hina for the training she put them through. He then opens a party popper and reveals the secret they've been working on—curry rice and salad, and a birthday cake. He says he and Ankh have been preparing a surprise party for her birthday, although Ankh pointedly avoids eye contact with either one of them, instead changing the subject to how lucky it was that they got this new Core Medal. However, the Kangaroo Medal has had enough of Ankh's tsun shit, and it dissolves into light. Hina tells them that if they start over, then they'll be able to use it again. Because what is a fourth wall, anyway? Eiji's ready to go courtship dancing again, but Hina points out maybe they should eat before her dinner gets cold. They sit down, and Hina tries to blow out her candles, but can't quite get them all, so Eiji blows out the rest for her, while Ankh lets a smile slip out and they clap.
