...Okay, not ultra-stressed from work. Over-stressed is the norm.
Even though I plan on finishing off the Hina fic and actually writing Project Silver through to completion by (hopefully) the end of next year (depending on how long it ends up), I have another oneshot that I really want to do. Ultraman Zero, the story of his exile, told through him and Leo for the most part. There's also a good amount of Astra and King playing a part, since Astra's role is extremely understated despite him also being charged with caring for Zero, plus however Zero ended up so fond of King by the time of Geed.
I'm trying to work on a timeframe of what happens across the span of his exile, since Ultraman's approach to timelines is "a great big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff."
1. My assumption is that Seven genuinely did not know he was a father in 1967. He and Zero's mom split up sometime before he left to map Earth's part of the galaxy (thereby leading to him falling in love with Anne Yuri without having any hang-ups about an existing love interest). Zero was either born around then, or years/decades/etc. before. Either way, Seven probably finds out about Zero when he returns to the Land of Light to recover from his injuries. He does not get a chance to see him, and this may play into his bitterness and out-of-character behavior reported in Leo.
2. Mebius knows Zero, even if only in passing. Mebius talks about Zero having "great potential," and along with Ultraman, continues to try to speak up for Zero despite Seven saying he's not ready. It's possible they were classmates, or near enough in whatever counts for grades that they knew each other but weren't really friends, for the most part. Zero's exile may have happened prior to Mebius being assigned to Earth.
3. Tying into #2, it's the first five Ultras who arrest Zero. Taro is presumably still teaching, making it damn near impossible for him to get there. Mebius had them occasionally show up in his show, so this is where I think his adventure may have happened after.
4. At some point between Mebius and Mega Monster Battle, both Ultraman and Seven disappeared on separate missions (though Seven may have been searching for 'Man). Ultraman wound up being embedded in a mountain on Planet Boris after a battle (I think against Rayblood? I'd have to check again), and Seven was trapped within the Armored Darkness on Planet Hammer. Both are only freed a couple of years before the movie, since Rei and the others give actual timeframes.
5. I have no idea anything about Asuka. He just goes wherever.
