So today is the 50th anniversary of Kamen Rider. Unfortunately, with 8 million things going on at once, I didn't really have a chance to do anything to commemorate it. But at least Toei is.
So...yeah. Hideaki Anno is doing a movie. I guess he's got a monopoly on Shin everything now, with Godzilla, Ultraman, and now Kamen Rider all getting a new twist.
A reboot of Kamen Rider Black? Okay. Sounds interesting.
And the one that I'm honestly not looking forward to, an anime adaptation of the W sequel manga. Over the years, I've come to find I'm not a big fan of Riku Sanjo's writing, and the original W may have been the exception rather than the rule. I tried reading the manga but dropped it early. The artwork is kind of ugly, in my opinion, with everyone stylized beyond recognition. Also it's way too fanservice-y, which killed a lot of my enjoyment.
But overall, this is some pretty exciting news, so let's see how things go.
